With rolling countryside, scenic coastline, wide open valleys & the dramatic foothills of the Cairngorm National Park, Angus is a great area to explore the natural environment.

Traditionally a ‘ramblers’ paradise, Angus has long been a destination for nature exploration. Culturally ‘rambling’ has given way to a more casual and diverse outdoor-based set of activities, embraced by a broader section of society: From serious hikers, to wild swimmers, dog walkers and families out to amble and explore. The trails of Angus are less trodden than those of the famous Scottish beauty hotspots, its quite feasible to find some solitude here.

There is an abundance of historical monuments, castles, ruins and curiocities, the area is also very popular with cyclists, our rolling countryside is great for all abilities and there are growing cycle networks both on and off road. We have plans to create a lockable cycle store at Farmtoun over the coming season , please ask about this facility.

Below are some useful links online resources and when you arrive at Farmtoun you will also have access to maps, books and other resources to help you scope out the area, from walking trails to where to eat.
